When you meet a couple with such a passionate love for racing then you know you are in for a ride. And what a lovely ride it’s been!
When planning an engagement session we aim to combine the couple’s personalities with the magnificent and meaningful location, something close to heart to both of them, that will make for intimate photos of a thousand words. This one was no exception 🙂
Our happy couple, Amber, a nurse, and Carl, an electrician, are living in Worthing, so it came as no surprise that we opted for the area they call home. Honestly, if you are looking for a sunny, stunning, eye-candy scenery to compliment couple’s warm and loving nature, pure excitement and happiness, then look no further, because Southern England is where you should head to.
Just an hour of a train ride from London, lies seaside resort of Brighton, bathing in the glowing rays of sunshine. Summed up in one word: Perfection. Naturally, we were drawn to the beach and its blue splendour trying to find a perfect spot where our newlyweds-to-be would feel the most relaxed and where we could get those striking compositions that would help bring out the natural element of the scenery. Of course, our first choice had to be Brighton Palace Pier, a monument in its own right, which offered us a perfect set up to capture seascape of blues and white hues. And once we got going it all came together in the most comfortable and natural way. Our happy couple got a feel for the water and how can they not, when the sea almost invites you to take a dip. Their light coloured clothes stood out in the most beautiful way against rusty supporting poles of the pier and blue waters. It was laidback and fun, and it all emitted in these sultry shots.
After all the laughter and giggles we had on and under the pier, we decided to switch up the tone and show off some elegant beachside snaps. We needed a place where the true beauty of the marine surroundings highlighted the architecture typical of the area that would result in gorgeous photos. Turns out that The Bandstand gave us just that and a lot more. Used as a venue for weddings and ceremonies it exudes party and dancing but in a classy and sophisticated manner. Our beautiful bride-to-be couldn’t help but give it a twirl across the vast podium. She looked stunning and Carl behaved like a true gentleman. They were the epitome of cuteness and we felt a bit like a third wheel on their date…but it was well worth it!
Since we always knew how important motorsports are to Amber and Carl we decided to implement those to showcase their true identity and uniqueness. Being the racing enthusiasts that they are, our engaged couple embraced the idea of going to their home in Worthing and posing with their personal collection of motors and a racing car. Being in their natural habitat and familiar surroundings helped them get cosy in front of the camera. Photos we took felt intimate, loving and dreamy all at once. We played with light to secure the wow effect we wanted to create. Not so difficult to do when you have these two in front of your lens! They were the absolute perfection, the embodiment of who they are as a couple and the love they share for one another.
And finally, to complete the full circle of Amber and Carl’s story, we’ve gone back to the sea. To depict the journey that was ahead, we thought it was only fitting that they took a stroll, side by side, hand in hand, pebbles under their feet and their heads in the clouds. It is impossible to miss the bond they already share, even just by looking at the colourful screen adorned with their photos. We bet you felt it too. So did we.
This whole engagement sesh was full of outdoorsy fun with plenty of love, laughter and happiness to go around. Our goal was to capture all those sentiments in a cohesive unit and bring them to life through photos. And…… We think we nailed it! But we’ll let you be the judge of that.
