Farm Wedding In River Cottage HQ

We were so excited to travel to River Cottage HQ in Devon for a beautiful Western wedding, especially as we were referred by a previous client. We had photographed another wedding for the family before, so it was a real privilege to be invited back and capture another important celebration for them. This time, they brought us to the beautiful River Cottage HQ!

River Cottage HQ offers a wonderful range of experiences, including dining experiences and cookery courses, as well as courses on beekeeping, brewing, breadmaking, cheesemaking, meat curing and foraging. One of the lovely surprises of the day was the wedding car. The bride’s father hired a beautiful VW camper van called Black Betty as a surprise wedding car.

The owner told us that Black Betty has her own love story. He married a foreign bride and wanted to take her travelling around the UK so they could experience the beautiful countryside together. They still travel with Black Betty today, now with their daughter too.

We thought this was such a lovely story behind a wedding car, and Black Betty looked absolutely gorgeous at River Cottage! Although the camper is based in Devon, it is available to travel for weddings and other occasions.

It was a 3-4 hour ride from London to Devon. On the way, we passed Stonehenge and lots of beautiful places. Then we arrived the bride ‘getting ready’ place.
