Interview with the Founder – Angela:
1. Can you tell us the story of ToniBridal?
We opened back in July 2013 after a year or so of preparation. Weddings have always been an interest for me and so this is a dream come true to have a shop! We saw that there was a small gap in the market for the traditional Chinese wedding wear and combined it with the mainstream wedding dresses we sell. We have carefully put together a wide range of styles to suit many brides and we hope to be able to offer people a ‘one stop shop’ to find their dream dress, bridesmaids dresses, shoes and accessories!
2. Who are your brides?
We cater for most brides on a variety of budgets and tastes. Of course we also cater for the bride looking for traditional Chinese wedding wear as well so they don’t have to travel half way around the world for their dress. We also sell the a lot of accessories along with the traditional tea sets, kneeling cushions etc!
3. Is there any particular style of dress you stock? Which brands your shop are carrying at the moment?As mentioned we offer a wide range of wedding dress styles. Most notably the Disney Fairy Tale Collection which captures the essence of famous Disney Princesses like Cinderella, Belle, Tiana and Jasmine among others. We also have very classic and elegant styles for the different silhouette each bride may like. So along with the ballgown silhouette, we have mermaid, a line, fit and flair, column and tea length dresses. Our designers include Alfred Angelo, Wtoo, Pure Bridal and Nicki Flynn.
Lace is still very popular but the back detail on your dress is a big trend. Two piece dresses and dresses with a bit of colour are also on trend too. You spend the most important part of your big day with your back facing your guests during the ceremony and so it’s important it looks good right?
