1. Can you tell me the brief history of Bentley & Skinner?

Bentley & Co was first established in Bond Street in 1934. For over 50 years the company was under the sole direction of the present Director’s late uncle John Sheldon, a connoisseur of Russian descent whose magnificent collection of jewels created world-wide interest when sold through Sotheby’s in 1985.

Skinner & Co was established in 1880 and had been in the same family for three generations. The Company was first invited to supply jewellery to the Royal Family in the latter years of Queen Victoria’s reign. Bentley & Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, buy and sell the loveliest jewellery. 5. What is important to consider when getting engagement rings and wedding rings? Can you give us some tips?

Some tips from Bentley & Skinner for choosing rings: When choosing an engagement ring, it is important to know what the wearer’s occupation and lifestyle. Always try and buy rings which are classical and age with the wearer. If you go for something ultra-modern it will soon dated and look old fashioned. Buy something that is durable as this ring will be worn on a daily basis. Make sure it is not too large as it will prevent you from doing what you do on a daily basis. If you have to remove your ring often chances of losing it are greater.

6. How Bentley’s staff help the customers?
