On your wedding day you wish for everything to be just perfect, and is there a better way to achieve it than following your and your beloved’s heart desires? If you wish to incorporate as much nature as possible, do not hesitate to have your wedding in the open, and if that is not possible, bring as much nature into the room as possible. The ceremony and reception can easily look like a scene from a fairy tale.

Natural From the Very Start

The best way to subtly imply to everyone invited that you will be having a Nature inspired wedding is to have charming wedding invitations decorated with flowers and leaves. You don’t have to make your own invitations and glue dried leaves onto each one, simply choose a design with ferns, blossoming roses, cherry blossom, or vine leaves. These will emphasise your desire to stay as close to Nature as possible, and it will also allow you to add a dash of your favourite colour.

Table Wreaths

If you’re aiming to achieve natural simplicity and sophistication, you can opt for elegant and organic table decorations in forms of lovely wreaths. Visit local retail centre and buy flowers in pots, plenty of moss, and some wire wreath frames. Swaddle flowers and plants in moss, place them on wreaths (you can even turn the frames upside down so you can arrange flowers more easily and so that they could stand better), and wire them firmly.

If you want, you can place a small pot with a bit taller flower or plain regular vase with flowers in the middle. Using flowers you can actually plant afterwards is a beautiful ‘green’ idea.

Your flower girl will already be the embodiment of a cheerful pixie with her flower basket and gorgeous dress, but what about your ring bearer? You can ‘green him up’ in a blink of an eye too, if you choose to have a unique ring pillow instead of a regular silk one. Pick a small glass box filled with grass and moss, or an intricately carved wooden box.

Natural Wedding Favours

Instead of having something as dull as ‘thank you’ cards for your wedding favours, why not give your guests something funny, useful, and natural? Small bottles of hot sauce with ‘thank you for spicing our day’ notes attached, or tiny succulents they can plant and watch grow as your love grows are beautiful and natural at the same time.

Bride as a Forest Fairy

As a bride, you will probably want your wedding dress to be white, but that doesn’t mean you cannot ‘spice it up’ with some natural accessories. Instead of having pearls and lace in your hair, why not use real flowers and leaves as a headpiece? You don’t have to go Wicca with an over-the-top wreath if you don’t want to, simple half halo of roses and willow leaves will add a touch of magic to your look. Choose green heels or sandals, and jewellery styled in similar tone: earrings like leaves or feathers, and several delicate bracelets resembling twigs on your wrists.

As you can see, nature inspired weddings are not as complicated as they may seem at first. Of course, not all of your dreams can actually come true, but this doesn’t mean we should just give them up. Add as much natural elements as you can, bring in natural materials, real twigs, leaves, moss, and flowers, and don’t be afraid to improvise if your original idea didn’t work out.
